Take Your Leave No Trace Training to the Next Level with a Master Educator Course

Leave No Trace - March 16, 2018

Las Vegas, NV: The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is comprised of approximately 20 full-time staff. We're a small and mighty bunch, but there is absolutely no way our motley crew of 20 could ever hope to carry out the nationwide Leave No Trace movement that we all know and love today. We can act as the main hub of education and research, and provide guidance on outdoor ethics, but when it comes to a boots-on-the-ground presence, that's where you, the local Leave No Trace advocate and practitioner, comes in. The Leave No Trace movement depends on the 8,000 Master Educators and 45,000 Trainers across the country who are dedicated to promoting and teaching minimum impact practices and outdoor ethics.

The five-day Master Educator Course is the top tier of Leave No Trace training. This course provides participants with a comprehensive training on Leave No Trace skills and ethics with practical application during a field-based course. Participants learn minimum impact techniques through multiple methods including discussions, scenarios, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

The Master Educator Course is also designed to prepare participants to be the best possible teachers of Leave No Trace regardless of setting. This is done by exploring and practicing various teaching styles, effective communication techniques, and by having the participants prepare and present a Leave No Trace lesson for their peers. Successful graduates of a Leave No Trace Master Educator Course are qualified to offer both the Leave No Trace Trainer Course as well as Awareness Workshops.

If you're ready to take your Leave No Trace training to the next level and help spread Leave No Trace knowledge in your community, find a course near you, or reach out to one of our Master Educator Course Providers to find out when they'll be hosting their next course.

Scholarships are also available for participants in need of financial assistance who also demonstrate a need for Leave No Trace education in their region, as well as those who have specific Leave No Trace related outreach/educational goals upon course completion.

Enjoy Your World. Leave No Trace.
