Thirty years of providing critical education and training for people about responsible outdoor recreation around the world has led to this moment: the first Leave No Trace Global Summit, an international gathering of leaders, researchers, advocates, members, and engaged Leave No Tracers with the goal of exchanging ideas, sharing sustainability work and training efforts, advancing the science and so much more. Leave No Trace is proud to host this event for present and future educators and supporters worldwide.
Come be a part of the event dedicated to protecting the places where we recreate. The Summit will provide the opportunity to learn from experts and researchers, grow your network, and discover what’s possible. We are excited to offer this opportunity to gather together and explore how we can all become the solution to conservation challenges.

Speakers are encouraged to read the Leave No Trace Best Practices for an accessible session.
Opt for digital materials: Instead of printing out agendas, presentations, and other documents, try to access them digitally through the Whova conference app.
Use public transportation or carpool: If feasible, choose public transportation, carpool with colleagues, or walk to the conference venue to reduce carbon emissions from individual vehicles.
Choose eco-friendly accommodations: If you’re staying overnight, stay in the conference hotel or other accommodations that have green initiatives in place, such as energy-efficient lighting and water-saving practices.
Reduce food waste: Be mindful of portion sizes during meals and avoid taking more food than you can eat to minimize food waste. Additionally, inquire about the conference’s food donation or composting efforts.
Dispose of waste properly: Use designated recycling and compost bins for waste disposal throughout the conference venue to ensure materials are properly sorted and diverted from landfills.
Opt for sustainable giveaways: If you’re providing promotional items or giveaways at your booth, choose sustainable options such as reusable bags, bamboo pens, or eco-friendly notebooks made from recycled materials.
Engage in sustainable networking: Instead of collecting numerous business cards, consider exchanging contact information digitally or using recycled paper for jotting down notes.
Participate in eco-friendly activities: Look for any sustainability-focused sessions or activities at the conference and actively participate in discussions or initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact.
