Thirty years of providing critical education and training for people about responsible outdoor recreation around the world has led to this moment: the first Leave No Trace Global Summit, an international gathering of leaders, researchers, advocates, members, and engaged Leave No Tracers with the goal of exchanging ideas, sharing sustainability work and training efforts, advancing the science and so much more. Leave No Trace is proud to host this event for present and future educators and supporters worldwide.

Level 1 Instructor Course
Interested in taking a Level 1 Instructor Course? Join us for an in-person course October 9 - 10 after the Global Summit in Boulder. There will be 4 hours of self-directed learning prior to the course starting. Registration closes September 22nd and you can sign up after registering for the Global Summit. Tickets to the Global Summit will include meals during the event. Leave No Trace strives to have vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and other options available to all attendees. Have a specific food need? Mark it in your registration and we will do our best to serve you.

- Pack a reusable bottle or mug: Bring your own refillable bottle to stay hydrated throughout the event. If you’re a coffee or tea drinker, bring a reusable mug to use during coffee breaks to avoid single-use cups.
Opt for digital materials: Instead of printing out agendas, presentations, and other documents, try to access them digitally through the Whova conference app.
Use public transportation or carpool: If feasible, choose public transportation, carpool with colleagues, or walk to the conference venue to reduce carbon emissions from individual vehicles.
Choose eco-friendly accommodations: If you’re staying overnight, stay in the conference hotel or other accommodations that have green initiatives in place, such as energy-efficient lighting and water-saving practices.
Reduce food waste: Be mindful of portion sizes during meals and avoid taking more food than you can eat to minimize food waste. Additionally, inquire about the conference’s food donation or composting efforts.
