Ellicott City, MD: Patapsco Valley State Park was the site of a 2016 Hot Spot week. This gorgeous state park is a patchwork of public lands spreading along the valley of the Patapsco River. The changing of seasons here at Amicalola Falls State Park is the signal for some to start a huge endeavor, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail.
