Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course – Yosemite Conservancy
When: May 10 – 11, starting at 10:00 am on Friday and ending around 4:00 pm on Saturday
Description: The Leave No Trace principles encourage everyone to enjoy the outdoors responsibly and ensure the long-term health of the environment wherever you go, whether you’re picnicking in a city park or backpacking in the mountains. Embark on a memorable one-night backpacking adventure to Alder Creek, nestled within Yosemite National Park. While journeying through this captivating terrain, engage in enlightening discussions and share insights on Leave No Trace methodologies, including trip planning, cooking, waste disposal, and beyond. Upon completion, participants will be certified Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructors, qualifying you to lead Leave No Trace Workshops and educate others about best practices for minimum-footprint outdoor experiences.
Where: Alder Creek Trail in Yosemite National Park
Registration includes: A two-day/one-night LNT Trainer Backpacking Course, park entry (as needed), camping before and after the trek at Wawona Campground (May 9 & May 11). There is no discount if you choose not to use the included gate pass or campsite.
Lodging: Tent camping (included, dates cannot be adjusted). No additional lodging options have been arranged for this program, but guests are welcome to find their own alternate accommodations if desired.
