Boulder, Colorado: Today, Leave No Trace announces new packages of tourism services with options designed specifically for rural and mid-sized DMOs.

Explore the new options.

For nearly 30 years, Leave No Trace has been a leading voice in the effort to protect natural areas through research-backed education and effective messaging. In 2017, the organization introduced a tourism partnership program aimed at helping Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs) attain their goals for protecting outdoor areas that drive visitation for many tourism-based economies. Leave No Trace’s current tourism partners range from state-level offices (including Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina, New Hampshire, and Utah) to county and city departments across the nation.

“Every day, DMOs are reaching out to Leave No Trace to collaborate on real-world stewardship solutions,” says Andrew Leary, the Director of Sustainable Tourism and Partnerships. “Our full-service tourism packages still offer the highest levels of customization and destination-specific messaging for large tourism offices, but these new options provide rural and mid-sized destinations with accessible and effective solutions to protect the natural areas that are so crucial for increasing economic development.”

The new packages of services are available at two price points. Both include consultation with Leave No Trace’s tourism education team, use of Leave No Trace’s core education and brand elements, and the ability to align a destination with sustainable travel strategies featuring Leave No Trace.

In addition to serving DMOs, Leave No Trace offers partnerships programs designed for tourism-focused for-profit businesses, guides and outfitters, as well as outdoor equipment manufacturers and retailers.
