San Juan Islands Revisit 2016

Lopez Island,

The San Juan Islands make up an archipelago off the coast of Washington state. Known for their Pacific Northwest landscapes and wildlife, the islands see approximately one million visitors annually. During this Hot Spot Revisit, the team visited San Juan Island, Orcas Island and Lopez Island. Impacts in these areas include erosion, water pollution, micro-trash, dog waste, defacing of natural objects, invasive plants, undesignated fires, marine wildlife impacts, artifact collection, and fishing waste. The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainer team provided trainings to local volunteers and business owners, conducted outreach on a local ferry, provided a workshop at a school to educate students, and conducted outreach during National Public Lands Day.

Your donation helps bring Leave No Trace solutions to these impacted areas.
