Virginia State Advocates

Dave Lauthers & Liz Abbott-Beaumont

I’m Dave Lauthers, and I have been a Virginia State Advocate for over 12 years, based in Virgina Beach. I am a retired Navy Chief, having served our nation for 21 years. Currently, I am the Council Outdoor Ethics Advocate for the Colonial Virginia Council, and I am a Virginia Master Naturalist. I have witnessed firsthand the benefits and results of the Leave No Trace principles, training, and resources. I encourage anyone or any organization in Virginia looking to explore or expand their interest in outdoor ethics, environmental stewardship and/or responsible outdoor recreation to contact me.

Please contact Dave at [email protected].

I’m Liz, a Virginia State Advocate and Certified Level 1 Instructor. I currently reside in Northern Virginia and have lived in and around the D.C. area for almost a decade. In my spare time, I love hiking with my dog, Bailey, and am working on visiting every park in the National Parks Passbook. As a State Advocate, I’m looking forward to working with other Leave No Trace volunteers to serve as a resource for individuals and organizations seeking advice on adopting sustainable practices. My goal is to encourage environmental responsibility to ensure future generations can enjoy the outdoors.

Please contact Liz at [email protected].
