Join Leave No Trace at Bradbury Mountain State Park, ME – September 3-5, 2026

Each year, Leave No Trace hand-selects nominated outdoor spaces that deserve collective care and attention. By designating them as Spotlights, we’re rallying the local community to step up, join forces with Leave No Trace, and make a meaningful impact that can revitalize and protect these special places where we recreate, enjoy one another’s company, and elevate our health physically, mentally and emotionally.

Bradbury Mountain State Park has been selected as a 2026 Leave No Trace Spotlight. The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team will be at Bradbury Mountain State Park September 3-5, collaborating with hosts and partners on a variety of programs including workshops, community outreach, and stewardship projects.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 | 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Leave No Trace Trivia Night & Social at Mast Landing Brewing Co.

If you love the outdoors, join us for this interactive game night to test your knowledge of Leave No Trace practices and principles while learning tips and techniques for protecting the park and all your favorite outdoor spaces. Whether you are new to Leave No Trace or consider yourself an expert, don’t miss this chance to participate in fun stewardship trivia, mingle with Spotlight hosts and partners, and win cool prizes from Leave No Trace and the park’s local event sponsors including: two benches by volunteer Rod Vogel, one cutting board by Ranger Day, Mast Landing Brewing Co.prizes, and L.L.Bean merchandise. Leave No Trace Pop-Up Education & Outreach

Meet staff from Leave No Trace and the park for engaging educational outreach. Enjoy quick games and interactive activities that make it easy and exciting to discover how you can help keep Bradbury Mountain State Park and all your favorite outdoor spaces beautiful and thriving. Learn simple ways to keep the park clean, be a good steward, and protect nature all around us.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4 | 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Fireside with the Ranger, Leave No Trace Staff & Hot Dog Roast

Come out to the park to roast hotdogs, eat s’mores, and play some games! Learn Bradbury Mountain’s history, then see what you remember with more Leave No Trace trivia for prizes! Food & games are free with paid park admission! Event webpage.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 | 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Leave No Trace Spotlight Stewardship Project & Pop-up Education (Stewardship Project 9 am – 12 pm, Pop-up Education 10 am – 2 pm)

Join in the fun! Give back to the park and trails during the volunteer stewardship project from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm. Join in on Leave No Trace pop-up education and Spotlight festivities from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There will be games, interpretive booths, and sightings of Smokey Bear and Bigfoot! Food includes Brickyard Hollow and a Treat Tent. The first 25 cars through the park gate on September 5 whose driver says the catch phrase, “Bigfoot Leaves No Trace at Bradbury” will receive a gift bag of items from local event sponsors.

Stewardship Project details: Come lend a helping hand on the trails! Volunteers will be repairing Ragan trail as well as replacing bridge decking. A kids stewardship project will be taking place at the playground for younger volunteers. More information and event webpage.
