Alex Coffman

West Virginia State Advocate

I am a West Virginia native who is currently working for WVU in 4-H and youth programming. I grew up in the hills of West Virginia and continues to love the many wilderness areas, raging rivers, and national forests that blanket the state. From hiking to whitewater rafting to cross-country skiing, I love to get outside anyway I can. During both work and free time, I teach wilderness classes, outdoor skills, organizes youth hiking and rafting trips, and, of course, teaches Leave No Trace ethics along the way. I became a Leave No Trace Master Educator in August 2017 and became the WV Leave No Trace State Advocate shortly after. My goal is to increase awareness of Leave No Trace to youth and adults through awareness workshops, integration of Leave No Trace curriculum at schools and camps, social media, and events. If you are interested in helping me spread the word or just want to know more about Leave No Trace, please contact me. Thanks!
