Zero Landfill Research: The Big Picture

The attached report summarizes work done through three phases of research that took place from 2017 – 2019. This research was conducted in three iconic national parks, Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, Yosemite National Park in California and Denali National Park in Alaska. The primary purpose of these studies was to better understand how park managers and partners can achieve waste management goals through effective and indirect management strategies for National Park Service (NPS) visitors and NPS and concession staff thereby helping to ensure a sustainable future for the parks.
