Connecting Youth to Nature

There has been a clear and well-documented trend toward kids spending less and less time outside. Anyone who cares about protecting natural areas should be alarmed by this — how will we create the next generation of land stewards if young people are not exposed to the wonders and inspiration that parks, trails and rivers have long provided?

That’s why an overarching goal of Leave No Trace for Every Kid is one of the Center’s top priorities (along with Leave No Trace in Every Park). We provide outstanding resources for teachers, counselors and other educators so they can inspire kids to become capable and well-informed visitors to natural spaces.
