Join the #LeaveNoTrash University Challenge
This Earth Month, Leave No Trace is hosting the first ever #LeaveNoTrash University Challenge designed to raise awareness of sustainability practices and low waste efforts by engaging campuses in a friendly, cross-university challenge.
The April 2024 competition will be between Colorado State University, the University of Notre Dame, and North Carolina State University with plans to add additional universities in future years.

Create an account on Citsci.org or download the Leave No Trace app. Join the University of Notre Dame #LeaveNoTrash University Challenge project.
- Pick Up Some Trash
Pick up some trash as you walk around campus or your neighborhood. Any amount of trash, whether it is a couple pieces or a trash bag full, makes a difference and counts toward the total challenge.
- Record It
Using CitSci, record your cleanup effort, big or small. Tell us the amount of trash and type to help us better understand how to minimize waste on campus.
