Pam Neely

New Mexico State Advocate

Hi I’m Pam and I am the creator of the Santa Fe to Taos Trail, a 130-mile backpacking route between Santa Fe Plaza and Taos Plaza, and the founder of The Santa Fe to Taos Trail 501(c)(3). More than 500 people are expected to hike the SF2T in 2026. I have lived in New Mexico for 20 years, after many years in New York City. I am a licensed wilderness guide and certified Wilderness First Responder. As a Leave No Trace State Advocate, my goal is to help New Mexicans connect with wild spaces without negatively impacting those spaces. When I’m not behind a desk, on trail, or working with SF2T volunteers and supporters, I’m likely to be in my garden or out on the town with my husband. Reach out to get involved with Leave No Trace in New Mexico!
