Hawaii State Advocate
Bonzai Holmes lives on Hawaii Island, aka…. the “Big Island” and spends most of his time building “tiny houses” on wheels for people to live more simply and sustainably with the “aina” – the land. When he is not building, he is hiking or on the water on the paddle board one of the challenges he faces in Hawaii is the literal segregation of the islands. Creating one HUB for Leave No Trace learning is his primary goal. This “hub” he is already starting to create on Kohala Mtn known as “Pua Mau” – where he can take more organized adventures with people (groups) and show them parts of the island and incorporate Leave No Trace principles with Hawaiian culture and philosophy. This is his main focus as an actual learning center is created. SO if traveling to Hawaii island… give Bonzai a shout and say “Aloha” to connect with Leave No Trace opportunities. MAHALO
