Grand County Trail Ambassador Program

The Grand County Trail Ambassador Program became the first Gold Standard designated program in November 2023

“Moab Trail Ambassadors have contributed hundreds of hours to education on trails that are experiencing high-impact from increased use, “ said Anna Sprout, Responsible Recreation Coordinator and Trail Ambassador Manager. “Our hiking, biking, climbing and motorized Trail Ambassadors facilitate informative interactions focused on responsible recreation practices around Moab, Utah. Thanks to our long term partnership with the BLM Moab Field Office, dedicated leadership of Madeline Logowitz, and motivated Trail Ambassador Team, thousands of visitors have learned about practices that respect trail user experience, encourage preventative safety practices, and protect the landscape and beloved trails. We’re thankful to have our team recognized for their hard work helping to protect these locally loved trails.”

Since the Grand County Trail Ambassador Program officially began in 2021, it has facilitated over 77,000 informative encounters containing responsible recreation information.
