Sarah Rutledge

Arkansas State Advocate

Hi, I’m Sarah! I live in Northwest Arkansas and am an outdoorsy, comedy loving, crafty gal originally from Oregon. After moving to Arkansas five years ago, I quickly fell in love with the state’s people and wild places. I’m a rock climber, hiker, paddler, avid firefly watcher, and enthusiastic critter admirer. If we’re outside together, there’s a good chance I’ll stop every few minutes because I spotted something interesting (I’ll probably stop a stranger to show them too).

With a degree in Wilderness Leadership and Experiential Education, experience in outdoor science education, and volunteer work with Arkansas Master Naturalists, I’m passionate about helping people connect with and take care of our wild spaces. As a Leave No Trace State Advocate, I hope to build partnerships, inspire volunteerism, and cultivate a growing community of Arkansans dedicated to protecting the nature we all love.

Let’s protect and enjoy our natural world together
