Rejoignez Leave No Trace dans le parc national de Shenandoah, VA - 14-16 juin 2024

Nous sélectionnons à la main des espaces en plein air qui ont besoin de notre attention et de nos soins collectifs. En les désignant comme Spotlights, nous mobilisons la communauté locale pour qu'elle se mobilise, joigne ses forces à celles de Leave No Trace et ait un impact significatif sur la revitalisation et la protection de ces lieux spéciaux où nous nous détendons, apprécions la compagnie des autres et améliorons notre santé physique, mentale et émotionnelle. 

Le parc national de Shenandoah a été sélectionné comme Spotlight 2024 de Leave No Trace. L'équipe itinérante Subaru/Leave No Trace sera présente dans le parc national de Shenandoah du 14 au 16 juin et collaborera avec des hôtes et des partenaires dans le cadre de divers programmes, notamment des projets d'intendance, des ateliers et des activités de sensibilisation de la communauté.

FRIDAY, JUNE 14:

Campground Amphitheater Program, 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Big Meadows Amphitheater, Skyline Drive (mile 51)

Talkin’ Trash with Leave No Trace: How to Reduce Waste and Protect our National Parks
Learn how to protect and enjoy Shenandoah and all your favorite parks and outdoor spaces with practical and easy tips for reducing waste and visiting parks sustainably. Find out the rotten truth about trash, how long it takes for common trash items to decompose, why we should always pack it in, pack it out (including dog waste!) and other important ways to reduce our impacts through Leave No Trace. 

SATURDAY, JUNE 15:

Volunteer Stewardship Project, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Rose River Falls Trail

Join Leave No Trace, Park Rangers, and partners for a fun volunteer day and stewardship project. Volunteers will rehabilitate backcountry campsites along Rose River Falls Trail.

SUNDAY, JUNE 16:

Leave No Trace Pop-Up Education & Shenandoah National Park Outreach, 9:00 am, Dickey Ridge & Big Meadows Visitor Centers

Join Leave No Trace and Appalachian Trail Ridge Runners for outreach and education at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center (mile 5 on Skyline Dr) and Big Meadows Visitor Center (mile 51). Learn more about Leave No Trace, sustainable ways to recreate, camp, and backpack, and how to protect the natural resources of Shenandoah National Park and all your favorite outdoor spaces.
