Description:
The LNT Trainer course requires all participants to “camp out” in tents overnight to demonstrate low-impact camping techniques. The focus is on the LNT principles and not “how to camp”, therefore, it is recommended that participants come with prior camping/backpacking experience. As part of the course, participants will also be required to teach, educate, and evaluate each other in one of the 7 LNT Principles. At the conclusion of the program on Sunday, there will be an additional opportunity for anyone affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America to attend some additional modules that will help them connect their new role as a Leave No TraceTrainer to the scouting program. The cost includes 3 simple “camp” meals, snacks, and Leave No Trace materials. This course is a combination of indoor and outdoor lecture/discussion, practical application, and reflection. You need basic camping equipment and should be in reasonably good physical condition. Topics include: The history of land conservation and public wilderness protection in the U.S.; The underlying land ethic; Individual learning styles; Outdoor teaching techniques; The authority of the resource; The Seven Principles of Leave No Trace

Prerequisites: Recommended that participants come with prior camping/backpacking experience. To register, you need only to click on one “add to cart”. Questions registering? Please email [email protected], or call 607-844-6586
