Leave No Trace Spotlight: Clear Creek Natural Heritage Area

Join Leave No Trace in Clear Creek Natural Heritage Area, TX – January 25-27, 2024

We hand-select nominated outdoor spaces that need our collective care and attention. By designating them as Spotlights, we’re rallying the local community to step up, join forces with Leave No Trace, and make a meaningful impact that can revitalize and protect these special places where we recreate, enjoy one another’s company, and elevate our health physically, mentally and emotionally. 

Clear Creek Natural Heritage Area has been selected as a 2024 Leave No Trace Spotlight. The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team will be at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Area January 25-27, collaborating with hosts and partners on a variety of programs including stewardship projects, workshops, and community outreach.

Opportunities to Get Involved:

Friday, January 26:

Volunteer Stewardship Project-Trail Clean up: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Education Center
Give back to Clear Creek Natural Heritage Area by volunteering to remove trash and improve trails during a family friendly trail clean up and restoration day! Participants must be able to walk/hike on uneven terrain. Volunteers must dress for the weather and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.

Saturday, January 27: 

Outdoor Expo: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center
Come learn all about how you can get outdoors and Leave No Trace in the Denton area at the Outdoor Expo presented by the City of Denton Parks and Recreation. The day will be full of workshops, activities and vendors to get you outside and Leave No Trace!
