Leave No Trace Spotlight: Biscayne Bay

Join Leave No Trace in Biscayne Bay, FL – Feb  22-24, 2024

We hand-select nominated outdoor spaces that need our collective care and attention. By designating them as Spotlights, we’re rallying the local community to step up, join forces with Leave No Trace, and make a meaningful impact that can revitalize and protect these special places where we recreate, enjoy one another’s company, and elevate our health physically, mentally and emotionally.

Biscayne Bay has been selected as a 2024 Leave No Trace Spotlight. The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team will be at Biscayne Bay Feb 22-24, collaborating with hosts and partners on a variety of programs including stewardship projects, workshops, and community outreach.

Thursday, February 22:

Leave No Trace Trivia Night: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm,  Unbranded Brewery, 1395 E 11th Ave, Hialeah, FL 33010

Stop by Unbranded Brewery to learn how practicing Leave No Trace can help protect Biscayne Bay and its surrounding areas. Whether you are new to Leave No Trace or consider yourself an expert, join us for this interactive game night to gauge your knowledge of Leave No Trace practices and principles while learning tips and techniques for protecting Biscayne Bay and all your favorite outdoor spaces. Don’t miss this chance to participate in fun stewardship trivia and win some cool prizes!

Saturday, February 24

Pelican Harbor Marina Cleanup + Leave No Trace Pop-Up: 8:00 – 11:00, lunch provided after, Pelican Harbor Marina – 1275 NE 79th St, Miami, FL 33138

Join Leave No Trace and local partners for a family friendly volunteer day and Leave No Trace pop-up as part of the Biscayne Bay Leave No Trace Spotlight.

Give back to Biscayne Bay by helping us remove litter from Pelican Bay and learn more about Leave No Trace at the pop-up. Volunteers should dress for the weather and bring water. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Advance registration is encouraged and required for the provided lunch.
