Leave No Trace Master Educator Course – RMI Expeditions

The Mt. Baker Leave No Trace Master Educator Course and Climb is the perfect adventure for those new to climbing or those who have previous climbing experience. The Leave No Trace Master Educator course provides participants with extensive training in Leave No Trace skills and ethics, through practical application in a field-based setting. The Master Educator course is designed for people who are actively teaching or would like to teach backcountry skills and/or provide recreation information to the public. This course is also well suited for climbing recreationalists looking for an immersive Leave No Trace course.

During a five-day ascent of Mt. Baker, the course will focus on the specifics of running a Leave No Trace Trainer program – planning, logistics, equipment, managing groups in the field, risk management, teaching techniques, and more. With one classroom day and five days spent in the field, the course will cover the Seven Leave No Trace Principles and discuss outdoor ethics in-depth, as well as give the participants the tools and techniques for disseminating low-impact skills to outdoor enthusiasts.

Cost: $1150
