Free Workshop - Implementing Leave No Trace in Your Community

The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team will be at the Skiatook & Keystone Lakes Leave No Trace Spotlight November 1-2, collaborating with partners on a variety of workshops, outreach programs and community events, including an introductory Leave No Trace Workshop geared toward local teachers, agency staff, and other full-time, seasonal, or volunteer outdoor/environmental educators interested in teaching kids how to enjoy all outdoor spaces, including Skiatook & Keystone Lakes, responsibly.

 

Topics in this interactive workshop include:

 

  • Overview of Leave No Trace principles and ethics, including both the hows and whys behind the importance of practicing Leave No Trace.
  • Leave No Trace practices that protect the outdoors while minimizing our impacts to the land, soil, vegetation, water, wildlife, and other people.
  • Programs and resources of the Leave No Trace organization
  • Tips for effectively reaching youth with Leave No Trace, including fun and interactive games and activities educators can use to teach youth (ages 6 to 18) how to Leave No Trace.
