Hillary Shaw - Leave No Trace Board of Directors

Hillary Shaw

Hillary Shaw is an attorney and wilderness enthusiast based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her love and respect for the outdoors began at an early age while attending summer camp in the northwoods of Minnesota, where she first learned the importance of the Leave No Trace principles. She has carried those values through many backcountry experiences, as a camper, counselor, college wilderness trip leader, and current avid outdoor adventurer. A strong advocate for getting children outdoors, Hillary formerly served on the Board of A Thousand Summers, a nonprofit which changes kids’ lives through transformative outdoor summer camp experiences. Hillary received her undergraduate degree in Economics from Dartmouth College and her law degree from the University of Virginia. Currently the General Counsel of Vanco, which provides software and payment solutions to community organizations, she began her career as a corporate lawyer for the international law firm Kirkland & Ellis. Now based in Atlanta, Georgia, she enjoys exploring the mountains and waterways of the Southeast for the first time with her husband and two sons, while still traveling whenever she can.
