Leave No Trace – Winter Recreation Preparedness
Service Description
Are you getting excited for backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, or however else you choose to explore this winter? It’s time to start planning your winter adventures! You will learn how to:
- Plan and prepare for cold trails
- Travel and camp with minimal impact
- Dispose of waste property – and more!!!
We use Leave No Trace Principles as the backbone of our classes. We will provide examples of local and winter adventures. The curriculum is based on the following assumptions: – Spending at least four hours in frigid conditions – Cell coverage is unlikely – Seeing others is not likely This class will be co-ed with a breakout session by gender. All participants will receive a Leave No Trace Awareness certificate! This is NOT an avalanche or AIARE class. Come early to grab a drink or food!
