A Look Back at 2021 Hot Spots

Brice - January 28, 2022

With 2022 Hot Spots starting in February, we thought it would be fun to look back on all we accomplished together in 2021.

In 2021 we held 10 Hot Spots across the country. The Leave No Trace organization led 92 educational trainings, workshops and service projects. We worked with 459 volunteers for a total of 1,405 service hours. Wow!!

With the help of local organizations and land managers we:

  • Reached 2,416 individuals with Leave No Trace education directly
  • Removed 1,702 pounds of trash
  • Stewarded 50 miles of trails
  • Dismantled 18 illegal campfire rings
  • Cut and removed 712 invasive shrubs

But more importantly than that, we worked together to put Leave No Trace into action every day in big and small ways to protect the places we love.We hope you will join us in 2022 in making the Hot Spot program better than ever! Keep a look out for announcements about programs and events at the below locations. Even if you can’t join us in person, we hope you will share educational messages and continue putting Leave No Trace into action in your daily life because #ItsYourNature
