Panthertown Valley Hot Spot Service Project - The Great Panthertown Campsite Clean-up

Join the Subaru/Leave No Trace Team and Hot Spot collaborators for a fun volunteer day. Volunteers will work on projects to address campsite impacts such as removing trash, pruning and dispersing brush, drainage improvements, campfire ring and tent pad upkeep. Volunteers will be introduced to Leave No Trace and the Hot Spot program, receive a rundown on the service project and safety briefing, and learn more about how to protect Panthertown Valley. This project is limited to 20 volunteers. LUNCH provided! Register early!

 


In partnership with Watershed Association of Tuckasegee River (WATR), National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), Leave No Trace, and U.S. Forest Service (USFS).

 


Plan ahead and Prepare: It is recommended you wear long pants and sleeves, closed toed sturdy shoes capable of hiking up 3-4 miles on uneven terrain; plus bring a pack with plenty of water, trail side snacks, any meds, camera, extra layers, and rain and sun protection. Weather can change rapidly, so be prepared. We provide all protective equipment, tools, and supplies! You are welcome to bring your own gloves and eye protection if you have them.  All are welcome!
