Want hands-on help?

Leave No Trace consulting services can support your team through the designation process.

What Gold Standard designation Means

Designation is based on the Leave No Trace Assessment: a set of criteria that measure how Leave No Trace is carried out across your site or program, and at what level, across areas including staff training, onsite messaging, programming, and others.

You use the assessment to find your gaps, train your people, and put an action plan to work. When you’re ready, you apply, and we review.

Five-year designation

With a short annual report each year, then re-designation.

$200 application fee

Partnership agreement

Designees must maintain a Leave No Trace partnership or equivalent agreement.
