Virtual Level 1 Instructor Course

Course Overview: 

Blue Spruce Outdoors is pleased to provide Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor training. Your instructor brings more than a decade of experience with the Leave No Trace organization, including three years as a Traveling Trainer, four years as Director of Education and Training, more than seven years as a State Advocate, and three years as a Leave No Trace Course Provider.

This virtual 16-hour Level 1 Instructor Course combines the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace, the science behind them, practical skills, and effective teaching techniques. You’ll learn not only what Leave No Trace is, but why it matters and how to confidently teach it to others.

You’ll Learn

• The Seven Principles and the science behind them
• Practical strategies for minimizing recreation impacts
• Outdoor ethics and stewardship
• How to teach Leave No Trace to different audiences
• Resources and techniques for incorporating Leave No Trace into your work and programs

The course includes 10 hours of instructor-led learning and 6 hours of independent learning activities. Participants must attend all scheduled sessions and complete the required coursework.
