Each year, Leave No Trace hand-selects nominated outdoor spaces that deserve collective care and attention. By designating them as Spotlights, we’re rallying the local community to step up, join forces with Leave No Trace, and make a meaningful impact that can revitalize and protect these special places where we recreate, enjoy one another’s company, and elevate our health physically, mentally and emotionally.

Stanislaus National Forest has been selected as a 2026 Leave No Trace Spotlight. The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team will be at Stanislaus National Forest May 14-16, collaborating with hosts and partners on a variety of programs including workshops, community outreach, and stewardship projects.

Leave No Trace Spotlight Trivia Night, Bear Tent Brewing Company, Jamestown, CA

The Stanislaus National Forest and Leave No Trace are teaming up to highlight our community’s efforts toward conservation and inspire everyone to join us in preserving the Stanislaus National Forest through education, outreach, and restoration programs.

Whether you are new to Leave No Trace or consider yourself an expert, join us for this interactive game night and social hour to gauge your knowledge of Leave No Trace practices and principles while learning tips and techniques for protecting the Stanislaus National Forest and all your favorite outdoor spaces.

Leave No Trace Spotlight Wildflower Hike with Tom Hofstra, Pinecrest, CA

Join us for a vibrant wildflower hike in the Stanislaus National Forest, off Highway 108. This is a relaxed, scenic outing capturing the Stanislaus in one of its most beautiful moments of the year.

• Bring water and lunch
• Gather at 9 am to get field guides, handouts and freebies!

SATURDAY, MAY 16 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Leave No Trace Ferretti Non-Motorized Trails and Clean up Volunteer Day & Pop-up Education, Groveland, CA

Join Leave No Trace, the U.S. Forest Service, the Groveland Trailheads, and other partners for a family-friendly, fun volunteer day. Volunteers will work on projects including removing trash, working on trails, improvements, etc. Pop-up education booths on-site with giveaways!
-Bring snacks, a hat, sunscreen, and layers for the elements. Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Water is provided.
-Please bring your own gloves if possible; otherwise, gloves and other supplies are provided.
-13 and up; under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
Advance registration is not required.

Meet in the trail parking lot located 1/2 mile north of Forest Road 1N10 on the west side of Ferretti Road,2 miles north of Hwy 120 at Casa Loma near Firefall Ranch and the Groveland Ranger District.
