Leave No Trace Level One Instructor Course – Kentucky Outdoor Institute

The Kentucky Outdoor Institute at Asbury University is excited to offer a Leave No Trace Level One Instructor Course to enable people to teach Leave No Trace in various settings. In this course, participants will learn about and practice Leave No Trace principles and ethics, and create their personal outdoor ethic to become more responsible land users and teach others more sustainable outdoor practices.

What to Expect:

  • 16 hours of experiential instruction in the great outdoors
  • Short hikes to put Leave No Trace into practice
  • Opportunities to teach Leave No Trace and receive feedback from your peers.

Outcomes:

  • A Leave No Trace Level One Instructor Certification, allowing you to teach Workshops and Skills Courses.
  • A one-year membership to Leave No Trace
  • The skills to practice Leave No Trace in your own outdoor pursuits

Course Details:

  • Cost: $150
  • Location: Asbury University
  • Course Dates: May 30th – 31st
  • Instruction Time: 9 AM – 5 PM each day
  • Meals: Lunch is provided each day of the course
  • Minimum Age: 16
