During Earth Month, Leave No Trace and CitSci are hosting the third annual #LeaveNoTrash University Challenge, designed to raise awareness of sustainability practices and low-waste efforts by engaging campuses in a friendly challenge from April 18th to 26th.
Compete against other colleges and universities to see who can clean up and record the most trash. Along the way, collect important data to help your campus understand how to address litter and waste in the future.
Create an account on Citsci.org or download the Leave No Trace app. Join the #LeaveNoTrash University Challenge project. Your school will be added as a location for data submissions.
Pick up some trash as you walk around campus or your neighborhood. Any amount of trash, whether it is a couple pieces or a trash bag full, makes a difference and counts toward the total challenge.
Using CitSci, record your cleanup effort, big or small. Tell us the amount of trash and type to help us better understand how to minimize waste on campus. Select your school from the location options to add to your total. We’re giving away prizes, so make sure to submit all the trash you pick up!
Join, renew or donate through Monday, July 6th, for a chance to win the Big Agnes, REI & Yeti deluxe summer prize package!
Commit to learning, practicing, and sharing Leave No Trace this April. It takes 30 seconds and helps protect the places you love.
