Packing the Subaru: Plan Ahead and Prepare

Minneapolis, MN: As Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers we spend 250+ nights a year camping.  To be successful at our jobs we must plan ahead and prepare on a regular basis.  We use the Seven Principles in our daily life to make a positive environment footprint everywhere we go.

As seen in order shown in video. Follow the links to see where these items are available.

Principle 6: Respect WildlifeBear Can : Used to make food and other scented items secure from bears and other critters.

Principle 2: Travel and Camp on Durable SurfacesScrim Cloth : It is an open weaved cloth used to minimize impact in high use areas, like the camp kitchen where air can get through and vegetation can grown but acts as a buffer from constant walking.

Principle 3: Disposal of WasteTrash Bag : A reusable and lined trash bag makes clean up much easier!

Principle 5: Minimize Campfire ImpactsCamp Stove : Using a stove instead of a campfire for cooking lessens the possibility of a wildfire.

Principle 7: Be Considerate of Other VisitorsBiodegradable Soap : Keep clean, use small amounts of biodegradable soap, when allowed at least 200 feet from water sources.

Principle 4: Leave What You FindBoot Brush : Use after hiking so that your boots don't spread non-native species to your next hike.
