3 Leave No Trace-Inspired Halloween Costumes

2. Campfire Soup
Are you planning to have a campfire this Halloween? Campfires can be a part of a fun Halloween night, but it is important to totally extinguish them to prevent wildfires. Consider dressing up as a can of campfire soup to remind yourself how to check that your fire is safely out. It’s not only a great Halloween costume, it is also an important technique to protect yourself from bears. When you first get to camp, establish a bear-muda triangle by setting up your tent, kitchen area, and food storage 200ft (70 big steps) apart. This keeps smelleable items (food, toiletries, trash, etc.) and the bears they attract away from your tent.
