So far, in 2024, our three pairs of Traveling Trainers have:

Directly educated more than 32,231 people over the course of 1,053 training hours, including 1,908 youth.

Completed 17 out of 19 Spotlights with over 483 volunteers, having completed 1,868 volunteer hours working on various rehabilitation projects.

Conducted over 297 educational programs, training events, and community outreach events with 342,584+ participants in 25 states.

Our Mission: Protect and Preserve

The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Teams are on a mission to inspire people to enjoy nature responsibly by bringing Leave No Trace directly to your backyard. Chances are they’ve rolled through your community!

Through workshops, community events, school programs, and more, they share practical tips and techniques for minimizing human impacts on the environment while engaging volunteers of all ages in various restoration projects across the country.

Each interaction leaves a lasting impression, fostering a sense of stewardship and respect for our natural world.

A Day in the Life of a Leave No Trace Traveling Trainer

Meet Jeanelle & Rob

Passionate outdoor recreationists who love backpacking, hiking, and camping. With backgrounds in public education, marketing, logistics, and content creation, they educate and inspire others to enjoy the outdoors sustainably, using their photography and videography to promote inclusivity and stewardship.

Meet Elena & Jessa

Graduate school friends turned partners, blending their expertise in ecosystem science, design, environmental research, and outdoor instruction. They travel the country to encourage diverse communities to embrace outdoor sports and Leave No Trace principles, using their combined skills in media, communication, and problem-solving.

Meet Becca & Luke

Educators with a deep passion for conservation and sustainability. After meeting in an Alaskan village, they’ve traveled extensively, working with underserved communities in places like Cherokee Nation, Ecuador, and Palestine. Their experiences and love for the outdoors drive them to promote responsible recreation and empower people from all backgrounds to engage in outdoor activities.

Access to the Subaru VIP Program is an exclusive Leave No Trace member benefit.

To qualify, you must be an active member of Leave No Trace through one of the following before requesting a VIP form:

  • For at least 6 months at the 50+ annual or $5+ monthly member level
  • For at least 30 days at the $500+ annual level
  • For a full year at the $10+ annual level
