Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course

Join 2nd Nature TREC as we work together to enhance the reach of sustainable recreation practices and Leave No Trace educational efforts during this two-day course. Participants will learn about and practice teaching the Leave No Trace Seven Principles in both classroom and outdoor settings, developing useful skills in both minimal-impact outdoor recreation and teaching/communication techniques. Upon completion, participants will be certified Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructors, qualifying them to lead Leave No Trace Skills Courses and Workshops and educate others about best practices for minimum-footprint outdoor experiences.

2nd Nature TREC is also offering a Wilderness First Aid and Night Hike Leader Course in the days leading up to the Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course. College Credit through Western Carolina University is available, and these training hours will count towards the Environmental Education certification through the state of North Carolina. Lodging is available at the Mountain View Lodge.
