Leave No Trace Trainer Course - Boy Scouts of America, Whitesburg, TN

Leave No Trace Trainer Courses are designed for anyone who is interested in Leave No Trace: scout leaders, educators, guides, all outdoor professionals, agency employees and you and me (everyone) as well as youth 14 years and older. The 16 hours course assists participants in learning more about the seven principles of Leave No Trace and techniques for implementing these low impact skills. Successful graduates of the Trainer Course gain skills to teach Leave No Trace techniques and ethics to their scouts, clients, friends and family.

Leave No Trace Trainer Course - Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, VA

The Leave No Trace Trainer Course teaches participants the seven principles of Leave No Trace, as well as techniques for disseminating these low impact skills. This course will focus on educational strategies to encounters on the A.T., and the graduates will be well prepared to lead Awareness Workshops. ATC Education and Outreach Coordinator Kathryn Herndon-Powell and ATC Natural Resource Specialist Conner McBane are teaming up to lead this course. Herndon-Powell and McBane are Master Educators based in ATC's Central and Southwest Virginia Regional Office.

Leave No Trace Trainer Course - Boy Scouts of America, Theodore Naish Scout Reservation, Kansas

This course is for scouts and scout leaders looking to develop and expand their knowledge of Leave No Trace skills.  After this 16 hour course, you will have a better understanding of the skills needed for friendlier, low impact outdoor recreation. You will also have tips for taking it back to your units to help with advancement requirements. This training is highly recommended for youth scouts that would like to hold the Outdoor Ethics position in their unit. This course is open to scouts and scouters 14+.

The Trainer Course is a vital component of the nationwide Leave No Trace program. You will receive training in Leave No Trace skills and ethics in this two-day course. Trainer Courses assist participants in learning more about the seven principles of Leave No Trace and techniques for teaching these low impact skills to others. The training includes 16 hours of instruction and overnight camping. As part of the Trainer Course curriculum, participants will also be required to lead a 10-15 minute presentation on one of the Leave No Trace principles.
