This past week we put on a PEAK (Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids) workshop for the REI in Madison, Wisconsin . Teachers, scout leaders, and outdoor educators from around the Southern Wisconsin area came to learn how to incorporate Leave No Trace into the programs they run for kids and teens. All Access: Youth Program Hits The Web

Since 2003 the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics has taught over one million youth how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and to be stewards of the places they care about. The primary vehicle for this education has been the Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids Program or PEAK. Each year since the program began, nearly 125,000 children ages 4-12 participate in the program, which is offered by the Subaru Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers, Leave No Trace Master Educator and Trainers and a host of other volunteer educators across the country.
