Leave No Trace Master Educator Course - Appalachian Trail Conservancy, PA

This five-day Master Educator course will take place in Michaux State Forest in Southcentral Pennsylvania.  Participants will have the opportunity to study Leave No Trace issues in a variety of environments along the Appalachian Trail, including backcountry areas, front country areas and one of the most popular State Parks in PA (Pine Grove Furnace SP).  The course is designed for individuals who are actively teaching others backcountry skills or frontcountry skills, or providing recreation information to the public.  The overall goal of the course is to train educators and others in ways t

Leave No Trace Master Educator Course - Appalachian Trail Conservancy, VA

This five-day Master Educator course will take place in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. The MRNRA encompasses the two highest peaks in the state of Virginia, four Wilderness Areas, and 60 miles of the A.T. as part of over 500 miles of trails. The most beloved, most fragile, and most heavily impacted area is the 5000 acre Crest Zone featuring elevations over 4,000 feet, large rock formations, and a mixture of mountain balds and spruce-fir forests.

This five-day Master Educator course will be co-taught by the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and will be based at the ATC Kellogg Conservation Center  (KCC) in Southwestern Massachusetts. The KCC is situated on the Appalachian Trail among the picturesque hills of the southern Berkshires.
