Ao designá-los como Spotlights, estamos a mobilizar a comunidade local para dar um passo em frente, unir forças com a Leave No Trace e causar um impacto significativo que pode revitalizar e proteger estes lugares especiais onde nos recreamos, desfrutamos da companhia uns dos outros e elevamos a nossa saúde física, mental e emocional. 

Skiatook & Keystone Lakes has been selected as a 2024 Leave No Trace Spotlight. The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Team will be at Skiatook & Keystone Lakes Nov 1-2, collaborating with hosts and partners on a variety of programs including stewardship projects, workshops, and community outreach.

NOVEMBER 1:

Free Workshop – Implementing Leave No Trace in Your Community, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm, Chandler Park Community Center, Tulsa

This introductory Leave No Trace Workshop is geared toward local teachers, agency staff, and other full-time, seasonal, or volunteer outdoor/environmental educators interested in teaching kids how to enjoy all outdoor spaces, including Skiatook & Keystone Lakes, responsibly.

NOVEMBER 2:

Family Nature Walk at Keystone Lake! 9:00 – 11:00 am, Brush Creek Recreation Area, Sand Springs OK

Join Leave No Trace and the US Army Corps of Engineers for a fun-filled Family Nature Walk to learn how to protect nature and the outdoors. Enjoy an interactive trail with stops including Leave No Trace games and activities for all ages! Visit all stops to receive a goody bag.

Stewardship Project –  Lake Skiatook Cleanup, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Osage Park Recreation Area, Skiatook, OK

Join Leave No Trace, US Army Corps of Engineers and other partners for a family-friendly fun volunteer day. Volunteers will work on projects including removing trash and litter from popular spots along the shoreline of Lake Skiatook.

– Bring water, snacks, a hat, sunscreen, and layers for the elements. Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Please bring your own gloves if possible; otherwise, gloves and other supplies will be provided. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
