Crow Pass-Iditarod National Historic Trail | July 20-27, 2020
Crow Pass is a 24 mile section of the Iditarod National Historic Trail system and passes through Chugach State Park, Chugach National Forest and the Eagle River Nature Center outside of Anchorage, Alaska. The Crow Pass section is within a one hour drive of half of the population of the state of Alaska and is one of the most popular overnight, long-distance hikes in Alaska. High use and inexperienced use has lead to a variety of impacts including litter, human waste and natural resource damage being channelized into the narrow valley.
*Crow Pass is located on the ancestral lands of the Dena’ina and possibly other tribes*
