Leave No Trace is pleased to provide online trainings and courses. At the core of all trainings and courses are the Leave No Trace 7 Principles. Most courses take 30 minutes to an hour to complete.

Leave No Trace 101 Course

The Leave No Trace 101 Course will give you a better understanding of recreation-related impacts, the 7 Principles, and how Leave No Trace skills and ethics can help protect the outdoor places we love. This course teaches the basics of Leave No Trace’s scientifically-derived and researched curriculum. It is an excellent introduction to essential skills for all people who are interested in being more environmentally aware and sustainable when they are outdoors. What are you waiting for?

 

PEAK Online

PEAK Online includes videos and activities to help kids (recommended ages 7-12) understand the 7 Principles and how Leave No Trace skills and ethics can help protect the outdoor places we love. When you successfully complete PEAK Online, you will be able to download a digital Certificate of Completion!

Level 2 Instructor Course Refresher

This course helps ensure Leave No Trace’s Level 2 Instructors are current in their Leave No Trace knowledge and connected to broader Leave No Trace efforts. Level 2 Instructors are required to take this free course two years after completing their initial course and every two years after that. Though you will never lose your status as a Level 2 Instructor, completion of this course is required to be eligible to instruct Level 1 Instructor Courses and provide certifications to participants.

Stock Use Course

Learn the ins and outs of stock use in the outdoors. This 60-minute course guides you through the Leave No Trace 7 Principles with experts Bob Hoverson and Smoke Elser. Once you complete the Stock Use Course, you can download a digital Certificate of Completion!
