Pennsylvania State Advocate

Greetings, I’m a Pennsylvania native, born and raised in the small town of Boiling Springs, PA. I have a background in Biology and Ecology and I serve as a Natural Resource Manager for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), coincidentally based in Boiling Springs, PA.

Pennsylvania is facing a lot of “front country” visitor use challenges. Many of our tiny state parks are among the most heavily impacted lands in the state. Recreational use across the state is not well distributed, with areas around larger populations receiving a disproportionate about of use. Adapting Leave No Trace messaging to fit the type of visitor and type of use we are seeing across our popular outdoor recreation areas, is one of my primary goals as the PA State Advocate. Working with land managers and local Leave No Trace Advocates, is another of my top priorities. If you share a passion for Leave No Trace in PA, I’d love to hear from you!
