Event type:
Trainer Courses
Friday, November 2, 2012 (All day) to Sunday, November 4, 2012 (All day)
Event Street Address:
Harry S. Frazier Jr. Scout Reservation

This course will allow participants to learn and practice in an outdoor setting the 7 Principles of Leave No Trace and prepare individuals to act as Leave No Trace-recognized Trainers from Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics (www.lnt.org). The training includes 16 hours of hands-on instruction and overnight camping. The first night camping (Friday) will be conducted in a frontcountry setting impacted site and the second night camping (Saturday) will be conducted in a pristine backcountry setting. Participants will need to hike a short distance to the backcountry site.

As part of the Trainer Course curriculum, participants will also be required to lead a 10-15 minute discussion or presentation on one of the Leave No Trace principles or other impact topic. Further details and resources will be provided upon registration. These courses are presented by Green Earth Outdoors, an affiliated partner and approved training provider for the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics and the Lincoln Heritage Council, BSA.
