Minnewaska State Park Preserve Hot Spot – Clean up Service Project

Minnewaska State Park Preserve Clean Up:

Join the Subaru/Leave No Trace Teams and Minnewaska State Park Preserve Staff and partners for a fun volunteer day at the Leave No Trace Minnewaska State Park Preserve Hot Spot. Come explore and help clean up this beautiful space while learning more about the Leave No Trace Hot Spot program and ways to protect Minnewaska State Park Preserve.

This is a drop-in, self-guided program. Visitors will be helping the Park Preserve by picking up any litter that they find on their outing.  

NOTE: Volunteers may “drop in” at the Leave No Trace table between 9:00 am –12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 4:00 pm  to sign up to participate, and also pick up a trash bag, gloves and directions. 

Date: Sunday, July 11

Time: 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. Parking is limited. 

Where: Lake Minnewaska Visitor Center, 5281 Route 44/55, Kerhonkson, NY

Important Information:

  • Gloves and trash bags will be provided.
  • Bring a water bottle, snacks, hat and sunscreen, and mask/face covering (for indoors or where distancing is not feasible).

Directions: If using Google Maps to navigate, use “Upper Lot, Minnewaska State Park Preserve” point. Enter the Park Preserve through the main entrance along Routes 44 & 55, follow the entrance road towards the gatehouse, and follow the directional signs to the Visitor Center.
