Leave No Trace Trainer Course

The Wilderness Education and Outdoor Leadership Program at Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is offering a Leave No Trace Trainer Course. This is a for-credit college course (WLD-110A Leave No Trace Trainer, 1.5 Units) that will cover the standard Leave No Trace Trainer Course requirements (16-hours and overnight camping) where each participant will prepare and present a short 10-15 minute lesson during the course. The course will also cover issues and topics that are relevant to the Lake Tahoe Basin and the Sierra Nevada. In order to earn LTCC credit, participants are required to teach an additional eight (8) hours of Leave No Trace Awareness as community service. Your community service is on your time “off course” and must be completed no later than the end of the LTCC’s summer quarter (August 16, 2019).

Schedule:

Friday, July 11, 2019 (6:00 p.m. – 7:50 p.m.)

Saturday, July 12, 2019 (All day, start at 8:00 a.m. with overnight)

Sunday, July 13, 2019 (All day, end 5:50 p.m.)

Community Service (TBD no later than August 16, 2019)

Cost: In addition to LTCC enrollment fees there will a $53 materials fee that will cover course materials, meals (Saturday and Sunday only), and group equipment.

Registration: All participants must be enrolled at Lake Tahoe Community College and registered for WLD-110A Leave No Trace Trainer.
