Leave No Trace Hot Spot - Stewardship Service Project at Summersville Lake
Date: Saturday, August 13, 2022
Time: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: Meet at Battle Run Recreation Area. Parking is available at the beach parking lot.
Join the Subaru/Leave No Trace Team and US Army Corps of Engineers staff and partners for a fun volunteer day. Volunteers will help clean up trash and litter at impacted areas of Summersville Lake shorelines and beaches including Salmon Run and Waterfall Cove. Volunteers will be introduced to Leave No Trace and the Hot Spot program, receive a rundown on the clean up project and safety briefing, and learn more about how to protect Summersville Lake. Volunteers will travel to clean up sites by boats staffed by the USACE and local marina.
Advance registration is encouraged but not required.
Important Information:
– Bring 2 full water bottles per person, snacks, hat, sunscreen (and mask/face covering if desired). Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.
– Please bring your own PFD/life vest if you have one; otherwise, gloves, trash bags, PFDs, other PPE will be provided as needed.
