Heather Burke

Heather Burke has worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters (HQUSACE) as the National Partnership and Volunteer Program Manager for ten years.  She has a B.S. in Wildlife Science and Forestry from Virginia Tech and studied Forestry abroad for one year at the University of Melbourne in Australia.  Her 26 years of federal service have been spent entirely with the Corps of Engineers at John H. Kerr Reservoir (VA), Lake Kaweah (CA), Dworshak Dam and Reservoir (ID), the Jacksonville District Office (FL), and serving temporary details in the HQUSACE office in Washington, DC.

Heather lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, CalLee.  They both love to spend time in the outdoors, compete in running races and triathlons, and travel all over the world.  Sometime in the next few years they plan to run a half marathon in Tanzania, to complete their quest of racing on all seven continents, and summit Mt Kilimanjaro while there.

Let’s protect and enjoy our natural world together
