KATE BULLOCK & TRACY HOWARD

Kate and Tracy met while playing basketball at Wheaton College in Massachusetts. After graduation, they spent six weeks backpacking in Europe and were immediately hooked on travel. The two went on to get their Master’s Degrees in Education and have been teaching for the past eight years. As educators, they spent their summers traveling the country and exploring the National Parks. It is their personal mission to adventure to all 58 of the country’s National Parks and so far they have been to 35! Their love for the outdoors brought them out to Colorado in 2007, when they started working for the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics. Last summer, the two teamed up as the Leave No Trace e-tour, sponsored by The Coleman Company. As seasoned road warriors, they are thrilled to be back on the road as Team West of the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers.

Kate Bullock

Kate’s love for the outdoors began at an early age playing in the creek with her brother and sister behind her house in upstate New York. At age 10 she moved to Massachusetts, where her passion for the outdoors continued to grow. Being a collegiate student-athlete, Kate would enjoy hiking with her friends to unwind. After graduating college with a degree in Psychology, Kate continued her education by earning her Masters degree in Special Education. In 2007, Kate moved to Colorado to explore educational opportunities outside of the classroom. As a result, Kate spent the winter teaching snowboarding and received training to become a Leave No Trace Master Educator in the spring of 2008. She also has been trained in Wilderness First Aid. Some of Kate’s other interests include hiking, biking, playing bocce, disc golf, and cloud gazing.

Tracy Howard

Before she could walk, Tracy’s connection to the out of doors began in her fathers backpack while he was hiking and skiing. Growing up on six acres of land in Westwood, MA, Tracy and her five brothers and sisters spent countless hours building forts and creating their own adventures. The Howard clan spent summers on Cape Cod boating and fishing and winters up in Vermont skiing and snowboarding. Her connection with the outdoors and sports guided her collegiate studies toward Physical Education and Recreation. As a result, Tracy decided to become a Physical Education teacher in order to inspire children to be more active and get outside. Tracy continued her own education by earning her Masters degree in Education as well as becoming a Leave No Trace Master Educator. She also has been certified in Wilderness First Aid. Tracy decided to move to Colorado in 2007 in order to enjoy the recreational opportunities the great state has to offer. She enjoys hiking (especially to waterfalls), biking, backpacking, skiing, playing Frisbee, boating, and viewing wildflowers.
