Leave No Trace offers a variety of grant and scholarship opportunities for individuals and organizations seeking Leave No Trace educational materials and/or training. Please direct all grant and scholarship inquiries to grants@LNT.org or click here to submit a grant proposal online.

The Packing with PEAK grant is a partnership between the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics and Recreation Equipment, Inc. (REI). The grant provides PEAK packs to youth-serving organizations and individuals.
PEAK (Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids) is a program designed to teach kids ages 6-12 about Leave No Trace through a variety of hands-on activities. All program materials are available in Spanish.
Consideration will be given to applicants who are able to reach a broad audience with the PEAK program. Grants are reviewed and awarded on a monthly basis. The Center will respond to applicants within six weeks of request. Learn more ( + )

The Tools for Teaching Fund is designed to support individuals and organizations that increase awareness of Leave No Trace through related projects or educational programs. The grant supplies educational materials to these individuals/organizations based on their specific programmatic needs.
Consideration is given to those projects that have a local, regional and/or community focus, that have specific quantifiable objectives and that are able to mobilize volunteers to successfully reach project goals.
Direct cash awards are not available through this program. Grants are reviewed and awarded on a monthly basis. The Center will respond to applicants within six weeks of request. Learn more ( + )

Connect Grants provide direct support and training grants for organizations and people that serve culturally diverse communities. The primary Connect Grant goals are to:
1. Increase the cadre of culturally diverse educators;
2. Provide Leave No Trace education for organizations serving predominately Latino, black, Native American, Asian as well as other diverse communities;
3. Provide broader Leave No Trace educational opportunities for youths not served before with these programs.
Grant awards range between $500 and $2500 and can be used for Leave No Trace educational materials and/or to cover the tuition of a Master Educator Course(s). The 2008 Connect Grant deadlines are April 15 and August 15. The Center will respond to all grant requests after their respective deadlines. Learn more ( + )
Master Educator Scholarships are designed to provide partial course tuition to individuals enrolled in an approved Master Educator Course. Scholarships cover up to half of course tuition and do not include travel costs or other related expenses.
Consideration is given to those individuals demonstrating a need for Leave No Trace education in their region as well as those who have specific Leave No Trace related outreach/educational goals upon course completion.
The 2008 Master Educator Scholarship deadlines are April 15 and August 15. Please apply for the deadline closest to your course date. Grants awarded after course completion are retroactive.
Please apply to scholarship deadlines in the same calender year as your Master Educator Course.
