The team also travels to select retailers specializing in Coleman outdoor products in order to promote Leave No Trace information to kids and families. The e-tour provides basic Leave No Trace education programs that inspire youth to get outside while promoting responsible enjoyment of the outdoors.
Explore, Enjoy, Experience, Environment, Excitement, Expedition, Education ...
The e-tour provides hands-on educational workshops and information. Each retail stop is unique, from a half-hour workshop to a full-day booth display. These programs are designed to introduce kids to the outdoors and peak their interest in outdoor recreation and stewardship.
Back for year number two with Leave No Trace, Alexis and Topher will be heading out on the Leave No Trace e-tour this summer. In 2008 Alexis and Topher worked as Team East of the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers. Topher and Alexis are excited to get back out on the road, and are looking forward to the opportunity to educate and learn from the many diverse communities their paths will cross. Their journey together began four years ago in the Jewel of the Sierra Nevada’s, Lake Tahoe. Sharing a love of the outdoors, Topher and Alexis have spent countless hours biking, climbing, and snowboarding all around Tahoe, and the lower east side of the Sierras. With their combined experience and passion for environmental & experiential education, working together was inevitable. Topher and Alexis have guided adult and youth groups on hiking and snowshoeing excursions on the Tahoe Rim Trail educating participants about Tahoe’s flora and fauna and how to minimize their impacts while enjoying the outdoors. Together they love seeing live music, and attending summer music festivals to broaden their passion of arts & culture. They hope to bring a fresh perspective to the Leave No Trace e-tour, while working with various youth across the country.
A very special thank you to Coleman, our title sponsor, and to our official outfitter LifeLine First Aid for their support of the 2009 e-tour.
Additional thanks to Marmot and Subaru for their support.
